Rocky competed from 1947 to 1955 and held the World Heavy Weight Title from 1952 to 1956, the only Heavy Weight Champion to retire undefeated. Known for his punching power and stamina, Rocky could take an onslaught of hits, but still be relentless in his comebacks attacking his opponents viciously from start to finish. Once asked if he could have knocked out the great Muhammed Ali in his prime, Rocky answered, “I would be conceited if I said I could, but I’d be a liar if said I couldn’t.” This superbly detailed pewter/mixed metal sculpture by noted artist, Michael Roche, is mounted on a base of hand -finished solid cherry wood, with a custom molded pewter plate , is limited to 49 numbered pieces plus 7 artist proofs honoring Rocky’s undefeated record of 49/0.
